Hypocrisy. His dad’s heart is not pure. Fell dead and whilst lading up his boots show the suddenness of his death. His father’s death could represent the end of Victor’s childhood

“When into his grave he sank.”

Inversion, this shows Victor has no emotion regarding his father’s death

“And his cuffs were always clean.”

Victor is a perfectionist at a young adult age. It shows the impact his dad’s influence has on him.
