States Of Matter Flashcards
Physical reaction
Solid, liquid and gas
Chemical reaction
Colour, temperature and gas is given off
What is boiling point
Boiling point is the point were it bubbles
What do heated solid particles do?
Expand
Maluable do what
Bend into shape
Ductile?
Stretch out into wire
Atoms can do what?
Join, bond, in different ways. Some substances atoms are joined in groups called molecules
Compounds-
In compounds the atoms of one element are bonded very tightly to the other element/elements. The elements that make up a compound are different
Elements-
Substance that can’t be rocket down
Mixtures
Made up of two or more elements/ two or more compounds or both (elements and compounds)
Two or more substances are put together, but aren’t chemically bonded
(Cake ingredients doesn’t react until it’s baked)
Water is a mixture of what
Molecule + compound
Define an element
Substance that can be Brocken down
Ways how to make elements seperate from compounds
Passing electricity through the compound
Burning the compound
Mixing the compound with other chemicals
Three states of matter
Solid
Liquid
Gas
(Plasma)
Oxidisation
When oxygen bonds with other elements
