It is just boring to listen to facts.
You tell stories to make your presentations more memorable and more interesting

As humans we are trained to forget.

You are riding a bicycle rather fast.
You skid on some gravel and fall.
Scraping your legs and arms.
You are bleeding and you are moderately hurt, but your bike seems to be okay.

Someone saw you fall and comes and offer to help:
- he offers you water, but you are not thirsty ; you are bleeding
- He offers a patch kid for your bike, but your bike is fine and you are still bleeding
- Now you are not only hurt, you are also irritated
