Driving guidance for stroke?
A
Group 1- stop driving, do not need to inform DVLA unless residual deficit after 1 month
Group 2- stop driving and inform DVLA, re-licensing considered after 1 yr

Management of TIA?
A
300mg aspirin and review in TIA clinic in 24 hrs

Stroke primary prevention?
A
Management of CV risk factors- hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, DM
Cardiac thromboembolism management- e.g. AF, rheumatic heart disease

When should anticoagulants be started after stroke?
A
Not until 14 days

Stroke secondary prevention?
A
Lifelong clopidogrel
MR dypyridamole + aspirin if clopidogrel contraindicated
High-intensity statin

When should carotid endarterectomy be considered?
A
If carotid stenosis greater than 70% (ESCT) or 50% (NASCET)
