sub-talar joint Flashcards
1
Q
Classification
A
Multi-axial, Synovial, Plane, Simple joint
2
Q
Articulations
A
- Convex superior anterior calcaneus
- Concave inferior posterior Talus
(all covered in hyaline cartilage)
3
Q
Interosseous Ligament
A
- Most important ligament connecting the 2 bones
- Dense Strong fibrous tissue
-2 thick bands attaching to floor of sinus tarsi
ANTERIOR: Obliquely, ASM to neck talus
POSTERIOR: SPL to talus anterior to joint
4
Q
Ligamentum Cervicis
A
- Strong cord-like structure
- lateral end of sinus tarsi
- Limits inversion of hindfoot
5
Q
Capsule
A
- Loose fibrous capsule attaches to all joint margins
- Anterior part - adjacent to sinus tarsi, thinnest
- Lined with synovial membrane
- Thickened Laterally, Medially and posteriorly by relative ligaments
6
Q
Lateral Talocalcaneal Ligament
A
Lateral Talar tubercle - Lateral calcaneus
7
Q
Medial Talocalcaneal Ligament
A
Medial posterior talar tubercle - posterior sustentaculum tali
8
Q
Posterior Talocalcaneal Ligament
A
Lateral Posterior Talar tubercle - superior medial calcaneus
