A

They treated them badly by pushing and throwing them, their arms were twisted until almost broken and their thumbs were forcefully bent backwards

What were the tactics used by the WSPU?

A

After 1908 they started breaking windows, setting fire to post boxes and arson attempts
In 1910, the WSPU broke into the House of Parliament.
They burned country houses, a school and more than 50 churches

What is hunger striking?

A

Hunger striking is when the suffragette refused to eat. They would be force fed and if this wouldn’t work they would have to let them go temporarily so they wouldn’t die of hunger

Why did women win the vote?

A

During ww1 women were needed to do the jobs that the men filled. After the war men realized that the women could do the jobs that they thought they couldn’t do. This led to them getting the vote
