when can a paitent be considered to have a serious blint head injury? ie be time critical?
with or without loss of conciousness/amnesau and gcs 13-15 with any
- loss of conciousness exceeding 5 mins
skill fracture - depressed, open or base
vomitting more than once
neurological deficit
seizure
what should be used to control combativeness?
not midazolam- judicious opiods
what is the airway treatment for a traumatic head injury?
if airway paitent do onot insert npa/opa
airway not patent- consider airway positon and mask seal
suction if required

what ventilation considerations should be donne for a TBI??
ensure adequate ventilation rate at 6-7ml/kg target spo2 above 95% and ETCO2 30-35 mmhg
what should be done for the perfusion in a traumtic head injury?
normal saline IV max 40ml/kg titrated to response - unless uncontroled overt bleeding
aim bp >120
if BP <100 after 40ml/kg
consult with appropriate truama service
if consult unavaliable normal saline 20ml/kg IV
what general care should be provided?
seizures
hypoglycemia
time critical
pain releif
