What is a Tectonic Hazard ?
An event that that happens naturally which is caused by movement of the Earth. It causes huge damage to people and property
What are the 4 layers of the Earth
The crust,The mantle, the outer core and the inner core
What are the 4 different plate boundary’s
Constructive, destructive , collision and conservative
What does a destructive plate boundary do ?
The heavier plate deducts beneath the other making volcanic eruptions
What does a conservative plate boundary do ?
The two plates slide past each other in opposite directions . The friction is eventually overcome and the shockwave creates a massive earthquake.
3 reasons Why people live near a volcano ( Economic ,Social and environmental )
- You could charge tourists to visit the volcano ( Economic)
- The soil is really rich with minerals because of the ash ( environmental)
- The geothermal energy could be used to heat your house ( social )

What does a collision plate boundary do ?
The two plates collide. Neither can sink so the land buckles creating fold mountains
What does a constructive plate boundary cause ?
The plates are moving upart . When this happens the magma from the mantle rises up a new crust. Rising magma can also create shield volcanoes
What landform is created at a conservative plate boundary ?
A fault line
What are tectonic plates ?
It is a massive irregular shaped slab of solid rock, generally composed of both continental and oceanic lithosphere.
What does Epicentre mean ?
The point in the surface with the worst damage
