Sweaty

Pounding heart

Sweaty Palms

Shaky

Still can problem solve but w/ tunnel vision

Can't take outside stimulus 

Irritable

Fight or Flight

Learning CANNOT occur

Cannot problem solve

Nothing makes sense

What is a phobic disorder that is intense and there is excessive anxiety or fear about being in places or situations from which help might not be available and escape might be either difficult or embarrassing?

Agoraphobia

What is Obsessive and what is compulsive?

Obsessions are the intrusice thoughts that they just can't get rid of

Compulsions are the behaviors they do to try and get rid of the obsession

Compulsions is the undoing of the obsessions

Look at Physical 1st

Look at skin and check for washing

What is PTSD and what are some assessments?

Stress of trauma that causes physical damage

It is always associated with a traumatic event!!!

Assess for flashbacks

Assess for triggers

Substance abuse screenings (nightmares)

Isolation disorders

Level of Anxiety

What do you assess for in Conversion Somatoform disorders?

Labelle Indifferent
Strange things that happen but they don't think it's a big deal

Secondary Gain
They get something out of it (ie: Dr. Shopping)

Dependency on medication
