Test One Flashcards

1
Q

Why should be not rely on these tests

12
Q

Burst test is for what

A

The burst test is for fabrics such as knitted and lace since they tend to unravel when standard testings occur. The hurt test allows to have all directions be pulled which makes this test very realistic. 10 samples

16
Q

What is the burst test measured in and formulas

A

Measured in KMn-2 and PSI

KMn-2 to PSI = Divide by 6.89

PSI to KMn-2 = X by 6.89

17
Q

What is the yarn slippage test?

A

The slippage test measures how far the yarn slips from the sown seam

18
Q

Advantages of spillage test?

A

Very accurate
Useful for what the fabrics end use
Can be tested on lots of fabric

19
Q

Disadvantages of slippage test?

A

Unable to see stress on seam

SUBJECTIVE

20
Q

What is the difference between subjective and objective

A

Objective - right or wrong answers

Subjective - more challenging to prepare and can be more valid

21
Q

Why is fabric strength tested on fabrics

A

To measure the maximum load a fabric can stand when being pulled in one direction before it eats destroyed
