Q

Where/ what is the costal margin?

A

It’s cartilage along the edge of the 8th to 10th ribs in the middle of the chest and allows the ribs that don’t come into contact with the sternum to articulate (having a joined segment) rather than having it floating in the chest so this protects heart and lungs
