Divided into ‘wets’ (opposed) and ‘dries’ (supporters)
1980 Conservative Conference: Thatcher asserted monetarism would continue

Shift towards ‘supply-side’ economics (stimulating the free economy and not limiting it → tax reductions, deregulation, decline of union power)
