On 7 December 1917, Lenin set up the Cheka which was his secret police force
What would the Cheka do?
If there were any bourgeoise they would be arrested their houses and property would be taken
Why was the Constituent assembly abolished
Lenin had promised to hold a general election for the constituent assembly
However the SRs got 53% of the votes and the Bolsheviks got 24%
What happened after the abolishment of the Consitituent assembly
After the election on 5th january 1918, they refused to pass any of the Bolshevik decrees and after one day Lenin ordered the Red Guard to shut it down and soon after all political parties were banned

The Tsar and his family were kept as prisoners by the Bolsheviks they were held in Yekaterinburg in 1918
Why did the bolsheviks execute the tsar
The Bolsheviks saw the Tsar as a threat as they could potentially be supported in a counter revolution by the monarchists
