What are the six stages of the investigation?
A
- Identify a suitable geographical question or hypothesis for investigation
- Develop a plan/strategy for conducting the investigation
- Collect and record data
- Present the data
- Analyse and interpret data
- Present a summary of the findings and an evaluation

A hypothesis should be:
A
- A suitable scale
- Readily researched - (existing secondary data)
- Clearly defined - terms should be carefully selected to avoid ambiguity.
- A clear geographical nature
- Based upon wider geographical theories (such as Burgess)
- A clear aim - clear purpose for the research which allows for a clear outcome and conclusion to be made

SMART (what should a hypothesis be?)
A
- Simple - a single hypothesis is manageable
- Measurable - can it be measured?
- Achievable - make sure it can be done in time with the resources available
- Realistic - can it be done?
- Timed - how long will it take?
