What is multi-skilling ?
Employees are trained to do more than one job.
What’s collective bargaining ?
A union representative will talk on behalf of employees to management, usually about pay or working conditions.
What’s flexitime ?
Workers can work as they like as long as they work the set amount of hours agreed within a given time frame.
What’s a zero hour contract ?
Employees called in when they are needed.
What’s a temporary contract ?
Employees are hired on a fixed term contract.
What is part time ?
Working less than 35 hours a week but employees are still entitled work benefits and sick pay.
What is home working ?
Working from home.
What is a flexible workforce ?
Where a business and employee develop a unique working style such as part time or zero hours.
What is outsourcing ?
Delegating one or more business processes to an external provider.
What is redundancy ?
When a persons job no longer exists resulting in dismissal of your job.
What is individual bargaining ?
Employee and employer discuss terms and conditions of their contract.
