Topic 2 Flashcards
This first step in the research process finds a problem in nature, science, or society that needs to be solved
Conceive research idea
In this step of the research process, you must narrow the idea of the topic of interest with bibliographic research
Topic selection
This is the third step of the research process, in which you set the objectives, questions, and the hypothesis of your research
Establishment of objectives and hypothesis
In this step, you introduce the current situation of the problem in question (deep research)
Construction of a theoretical framework
In this step, you decide the methods, techniques, and instruments that’ll help you with the investigation (what you’ll do with the research’s approach)
Design of methodological strategy
In this step, you interpret data and compare it with the research’s approach
Data gathering and interpretation
In this step, you should answer the objective, questions, and hypothesis alongside a conclusion and the results of the research
Report elaboration
It is the approach and perspective involved in the research process
Methodology
This type of perspective is quantitative, objective, scientific, or experimental. It measures and evaluates phenomena with a rational explanation
Positivistic Perspective
This perspective uses surveys, experimental studies, longitudinal studies, cross-sectional studies
Positivistic perspective
This perspective is qualitative, subjective, humanist, and interpretative. It describes and explains events from the perspective of people who are the subjects
Phenomenological perspective
This perspective uses case studies, action research, participant observation, and participative inquiry
Phenomenological perspective
This type of research looks for patterns, and hypotheses that can be tested for further research (case studies, observation, reviews of previous studies)
Exploratory
This type of research can be used to identify and classify elements of the subject (collect, analyze, and summarize data)
Descriptive
This research technique extends the descriptive approach to suggest and explain why something is happening (locating and identifying different factors and variables)
Analytical
