Lost 13% of their land and 48% of its iron and 6 million people were ‘lost’
What happened to the German Military?
The German Air Force was disbanded, and the German military was decreased to 100,000 men
How much reparations did Germany have to pay?
£6.6 billion payed via cattle and farm animals
What was Article 231?
The War Guilt Cause- this meant that German had to accept blame for starting the way in 1914
What were the beliefs of many Germans towards the ToV?
They believed it was ‘diktat’- dictated peace
What did many Germans believe about the politicians who signed the ToV?
The politicians were called the ‘November Criminals’ and many Germans, especially soldiers, believed in the ‘Dolchstoss’ theory- this meant that they believed they were stabbed in the back by those who signed the treaty.
