Q

If you drew the whole trig triangle in a circle thing, which bit would be cos?

A

The horizontal line that goes over the x axis

19
Q

If you drew the whole trig triangle in a circle thing, which bit would be sin?

A

The vertical line that starts where the cos line away from the origin ends and carries on going away.

20
Q

If you drew the whole trig triangle in a circle thing, which bit would be tan?

A

It’s the tangent to the circle that starts (at one of the points) where the circle touches the x axis.

21
Q

What’s the radius of the circle in the trig triangle in circle thing?

A

1

22
Q

In the general ABC triangle, what are the sides called? Please start from the one opposite A.

A

a, b, and c

23
Q

a/sinA

A

b/sinB= 2*r(adius)

24
Q

sin A/a

A

sinB/b= 1/2r

25
Q

a

A

√(b^2+c^2-2bcCosA)

26
Q

cosA

A

(b^2+c^2-a^2)/2bc

27
Q

Area of a general triangle

A

(bcSinA)/2

28
Q

Sin(x) (simple relation to Cos)

A

Cos(90-x) AKA Cos (-(x-90))

29
Q

Cos(x) (simple relation to Sin)

A

Sin(90-x)

30
Q

tan(x) (reworded only using tan)

A

1/tan(90-x)

31
Q

Can you please give me a nifty acronym to explain which trig functions are positive in which quadrants? please start in 1st quadrant (top right).

A

All Stations To Chalfont
(All Sin Tan Cos)

32
Q

if Sin(x) was positive, then what would be equal to Sin(x)?

A

Sin(180-x)

33
Q

if Cos(x) was positive, then what would be equal to Cos(x)?

A

Cos(360-x)

34
Q

if Tan(x) was positive, then what would be equal to Tan(x)?

A

Tan(180+x)

35
Q

In which direction is a positive angle (eg 30, 170, 330 etc.) measured?

A

anticlockwise

36
Q

Sin(x) is positive, is that true for Sin(-x)?

A

No Sin(-x) is negative

37
Q

Tan(x) is positive, is that true for Tan(-x)?

A

No Tan(-x) is negative

38
Q

Cos(x) is positive, is that true for Cos(-x)?

A

Yes Cos(-x) is positive

39
Q

Can you tell me the periods for the graphs?

A

Sin and Cos: 360; Tan:180

40
Q

Can you tell me the max/mins for the graphs?

A

Sin and Cos: 1,-1; Tan: infinitely stretching upwards.

41
Q

What are the untouchable χs on a Tan graph called?

A

Asymptotes

42
Q

What are the trigs at the end of the day? (Sin, Cos, and Tan)

A

Functions. You can treat them as such?

43
Q

How would one go about finding the midpoint of a triangle? (or the circumcentre i guess?)

A

If you perpendicularly bisect all of the sides then the point where all the lines intersect will be the midpoint. It’s also the centre of that triangle’s circle.
