  • Jazz music banned - seen as ‘black’ music
  • Ministry of Propaganda made list of unacceptable literature
  • Students were encouraged to hand in ‘un-German’ books - millions of books from universities and libraries were burned in Nazi-organised rallies

  1. Industries became strictly controlled and people had no freedom
  • All owners, editors, and journalists had to be members of the Reich Press Chamber.
  • Radio programs strictly controlled - 1934 - all radio companies were brought together under the Reich Radio company.
  • writers, actors, and musicians had to join the Reich Chamber of Commerce.
  • If work was considered unsuitable, they were left out and could not work
