Individual identity
Traits, characteristics, and beliefs that make a person unique
Collective identity
Shared sense of belonging and identification with a particular group or community
Country
Physical territory that is controlled by A government
Nation
A group of people with 9 common language, history, culture, and (usually) geographic territory
Nation-state
A country that has physical borders and a government that makes laws and conduct business on behalf of it’s citizens
Civic nation
A nation created by people who share certain political beliefs and values, rather than ethnicity or culture
Ethnic nationalism
A form of nationalism in which the nation is defined by a shared ethnic or cultural identity
Civic nationalism
A form of nationalism that emphasizes a shared sense of civic values and a commitment to the nations political institutions and ideals (shared beliefs and values)
Pluralism
Idea that there can be multiple different beliefs or ideas that coexist within a society (people can different opinions and ways of thinking)
Patriotism
Feeling of attachment and commitment to a country, nation, or political community. (love for a country)
Constitution
A legal document that lays basic rules on which a society is built
International
Involving or relating to 2 or more countries
Ethnic
Racial, cultural or linguistic characteristics
Sovereignty
Politics authority to control ones own affairs
Self-determination
The power to control one’s own affairs
