Rules of Significant Figures

A

• all non-zeros are significant
• zeros between non-zeros are significant
• zeros to the left of non-zeros are non-significant
• zeros to the right of non-zeros are sometimes significant
• add//subtract sig figs = round to # w/ fewest decimal places (DO NOT ROUND EARLY)
• multiply/divide sig figs = round to # w/ fewest sig figs
