Features of a web browser

How is a web page retrieved
1 - User types in URL and browser asks DNS server for the IP address of the website
2 - if it cannot be found it send a request another DNS server
3 - DNS server finds and maps the url
4 - Once found the IP is sent back to users computer
5 - Computer constructs website from HTML data
What is a cookie
A small file stored on a computer from a website. It contains preferences and tracking.
What’s a session cookie
- Temporary
- Deleted once website is closed
- EG virtual shopping cart
What is a permanent cookie
- Stored long term on users computer
- usually contains login info
What is digital currency
- Exists purely in a digital format
- No psychical form
- Relies on a central banking system
What is crypto currency
- uses cryptography to track transactions
- decentralised
- not backed by banks
- uses blockchain

Tapping into a wired or wireless link. Uses packet sniffer which examines data being sent

- to prevent users from accessing a website
- spam of useless traffic

Program that replicates with intention of deleting or corrupting files.

Malware that and self replicate
Trojan Horse
Program disguised as honest program with malicious intent.
