Fibre is a type of Carbohydrate that the body cannot break down so it passes through our gut into our large intestine
what does fibre do
- it helps improve our digestive system 2. prevents constipation which reduces risk of colorectal cancer and haemorrhoids. 3. prevent snacking, reduce obesity and type 2 diabetes risk
What does vitamin C do
It keeps the cells protected and keeps them healthy. Helps maintenance of healthy connective tissue , gives support and structure for other tissue and organs. also helps wound healings. lack of vitamin c leads to scurvy
How is Vitamin C destroyed
by oxygen , heat(above 70degrees.
how to prepare foods with vitamin c
- quickly prepare the veg 2. cook in as little boiling water 3.serve immidiatley 4. use the cooking water for sauce/gravy
