Earth Science?
The name for all the sciences that collectively seek to understand Earth; It includes geology, oceanography, meteorology, & astronomy.
Oceanography?
The scientific study of the oceans & oceanic phenomia.
Meteorology?
The scientific study of the atmosphere & atmosphere & atmospheric. Study of water & climate.
Astronomy?
The scientific study of the universe, includes observation & interpretation of celestial bodies & phemonma.
Hydrosphere?
The water portion of Earth; one of the traditional subdivisions of Earth’s physical environment.
Atmosphere?
The gaseous portion of the planet; the planets envelope of air.
Geosphere?
Layer of Earth under both the atmosphere & the oceans. It’s composed of the core, mantle & the crust.
Biosphere?
All life on Earth; the parts of the solid Earth, hydrosphere, & atmosphere in which living orgasms can be found.
Core?
The innermost layer of Earth, located beneath the mantle. Divided in an inner & outter core.
Mantle?
The 2890 kilometer- thick layer of Earth located below the crust.
Crust?
The thin, rocky outter layer of Earth.
