STRUCTURE
The structure of a sentence is the organization of clauses in a sentence.
PURPOSE
The purpose of a sentence is the intent or function of the sentence.
PATTERN
The pattern of a sentence is one of seven specific arrangement of words in a sentence.
SUBJECT
The subject is that part of a sentence about which something is being said.
PREDICATE
The predicate is that part of a sentence that says something about the subject.
DECLARATIVE SENTENCE
A declarative sentence makes a statement and ends with a period.
Example: Jesus wept.
EXCLAMATORY SENTENCE
And exclamatory sentence expressed a strong emotion and ends with an exclamation mark.
Example: Jesus wept!
INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE
An interrogative sentence asks a question and ends with a question mark.
Example: Jesus wept?
IMPERATIVE SENTENCE
And imperative sentence express a command and ends in a period or exclamation point.
Example: Weep.
Punctuation and Capitalization Rule:
Capitalize the first letter of every sentence.
Spelling Rule
c says /s/ and g may say /j/ before e, i, or y (cent, fancy, gem, giraffe, gym).
