What is WARP’s primary function?
Accurately generated radar mosaics to ATCs
Disseminate weather info to critical NAS systems
Provide weather info to TMUs and ATCS
Provide weather info and forecasts to CWSUs
What is the path that radar data takes to get to the display?
It goes from the WSR-88Ds through FTI (NEMS) to the CDN to the RAMP where it is processed and disseminates radar and mosaics to ARTCCs and UDS external interfaces (DSR, ATOP, MEARTS, ERAM)
What data is received via the HWDS satellite?
Satellite imagery GRIB BUFR Internet graphics A/N products Lightning data
How do we receive the model data and what external interface is associated with model data?
It is received via NWSTG and FBWTG and is processed through the WINS CDN. It is associated with ATOP, ERAM
How does the WINS subsystem work?
WINS CDN acquires data from NWS, radar, satellite and publishes to CPN and LDN (directly or via RDN)
CDN publishes data to net-enabled wx consumers through OGC WS via NEMS
LDN publishes data to LPN and non net-enabled wx consumers (ATOP, DOTS, FDP2K)
How are the racks organized at the ARTCCs?

What are the dbZ thresholds for 8 data level schematic?
Level 0 = 0-4 Level 1 = 5-17 Level 2 = 18-29 Level 3 = 30-40 Level 4 = 41-45 Level 5 = 46-49 Level 6 = 50-56 Level 7 = x > 57
What are the dbZ thresholds for 16 data level schematic?
Goes up in increments of 5 per data level
Level 0 = 0-4
Level 1 = 5-9 etc.
How does the RAMP subsystem work?
Receives radar products from WINS
Generates regional reflectivity mosaics
Disseminates layer reflectivity mosaics to UDS clients
Disseminates regional mosaics to WDC CPN and LPN
What projection is used for ARTCC layer and volume mosaics? UDS layer mosaics?
ARTCC: PSN projection
UDS: NAS plane projection
