Continental Polar
Cold, dry air
A huge body of air that has similar temperature, humidity, and air pressure throughout it
Air mass
The area where air masses meet and don’t mix
Front
Cold air moving under warm air forcing the warm to rise
Cold Front
What are the 4 types of fronts?
Warm, cold, stationary, occluded
Warm air moves over cold air
Warm front
When the warm and cold meet but neither one has the strength to move the other
Stationary Front
When a cold and cool air mass come together, the warm air caught between them is forced upward
Occluded Front
