Referencing
Harvard UCT author date style
Case 1: Referencing
When the name(s) of the quoted author(s) form part of a sentence
the reference indicator consists of the date and the page on which that quotation appears.
Case 2: Referencing
Sentence does not specifically state the original author’s name
the reference indicator must include the surname(s) of the author(s), followed by the date and the page on which the specific quotation appears.
Always use only one (‘&’ or ‘and’) throughout your project, never both.
For multiple authors in referencing:
The use of the abbreviation et al. (always in italics) is allowed for references with three or more authors but write out all names for the first reference.
