When giving a presentation, remember that the audience wants to know:
WHAT they will be expected to learn
◦ HOW learning will occur and HOW it will be evaluated
◦ WHY it is important for them to learn what you are teaching
◦ WHO the teacher is and what qualifies them to teach the content
◦ When have your expectations been exceeded? When have you been disappointed?
When giving a presentation, how do we assess the needs of the audience?
- build relationships
- build interests in and motivation for your topic
- obtain specific and relevant case material to support your presentation
