Da Huang Preparation
Unprepared - strongest in purgative effect. Added near end for a strong purgative action
Steamed - mixed with wine & steamed, then dried in the sun - moderated the downward draining and cooling effects
Wine-washed - sprayed with wine, then baked dry - for LI heat toxins, resulting in heat in the upper body - redness of eyes, toothaches, mouth ulcers, and restless heat in the chest.
Vinegar-prepared- Enter liver and drain excess heat from the blood level
Charred - empowers the herb to stop bleeding
