Steep Turns

  1. Set flight director to “gunsight”
  2. Cardinal heading
  3. A/P On
  4. if speed is > 180, set torque to 22-33%, props 1500
  5. Airspeed s/b 170
  6. Set torque to 43%, Airspeed increases to 180
  7. Disconnect A/P and roll into 45 degree bank turn, lock your self into seat, remove hand from power
    lever and place “BOTH” hands on controls
  8. Establish 2.5 degree nose up
  9. WORK YOUR SCAN….START ROLL OUT 20 DEGREES PRIOR TO CARDNIAL HEADING

Departure Stall

A
  1. Gear up with flaps approach
  2. Reduce torque to 5%, and begin pitching smoothly up
  3. Bank to 20 degrees
  4. First sign of stall, RECOVER
    • ——-> POWER MAX and CALL for SET POWER
    • ——-> PROPS full forward
    • ——–> PITCH for VREF 115
    • ———> CALL FOR FLAPS UP
    • ———-> LEVEL WINGS

Landing Configuration Stall

A
  1. At the FAF
  2. Gear down Flaps down full props full forward
  3. A/P OFF
  4. Power Levers at 5%
  5. Pitch for 500 feet per minute of descent or flight bars as directed, keep wings level
  6. FIRST INDICATION OF STALL
    • –> POWER MAX ( call for set power)
    • —> PITCH VREF, call for FLAPS/GEAR/FLAPS
  7. CLIMB to Missed approach altitude or flight path (Evaluatior decides)

A

0 - 5000 Feet AGL
1 - A/P on with wings level
2 - Power levers 5 %
3 - First indication of stall (A/P kicking off if on)
4 - POWER MAX / PROPS FULL FORWARD – CALL FOR SET POWER
5 - PITCH for ABOVE VREF / LEVEL WINGS
6 - Resume 5000 feet or altitude specified by evaluator
