Q

What happened to women after the War?

A

treated more fairly, a trade union campaigned for women to receive more pay and the gov encouraged employers to help with child care cost and provide nurseries.
However, when the war ended women were forced to give their jobs back to men and by 1947 around 18% of women continued to work.
Some welcomed the opportunity to return home as some women had delayed having children due to the war.
