Worms and Mollusks Flashcards
Ganglia
: nerve cell clusters that act as a simple brain in worms
Coelom
: fluid filled space in worms that keeps the digestive tract separated from the skin
Parapodia
: lateral appendages extending from the body segments of worms.
Setae

Annelids
-Phylum of segmented Worms
Nematodes
-Phylum of Round Worms
Somites
segments on the annelids
Mollusks
- soft-bodied invertebrate animal that is characterized by an internal or external shell,a foot, a mantle, and visceral mass; members of phylum Mollusca
Bivalve
- mollusk that lives within a shell made of two sections that are hinged together
Foot
- muscular structure in mollusks that usually contains the mouth and other feeding structures
Siphon
-a long tube-like structure that is present in certain aquatic mollusks; Used for locomotion and feeding
