someone who wants complete power over a community or country and uses force and intimidation to stay in power. on the far right of the political spectrum.
what is a homefront?
the country where soldiers fighting abroad came from. for example: canadians fighting abroad were sent support from the homefront.
what is propaganda?
a form of media used to convince someone to do something or believe something. for example: “join the war in europe” posters.
what happened to japanese canadians during world war two?
the government suspected them of being spies after the bombing of pearl harbor so they took away the things and businesses of the japanese canadians and sold them and then sent the japanese canadians to internment camps where they would live until the war was over.
what were the causes of wwii?
the treaty of versailles, japanese expansion, fascism, hitler and the nazi party, appeasement, and the great depression.
how could the treaty of versailles have caused wwii?
germany had to take the blame for wwi when signing the treaty of versailles. this made many germans mad as it was serbia who really caused wwi. germany wanted their land and military freedom back which is why they could have started wwii.
how could japanese expansion have caused wwii?
japan was growing rapidly but because they were an island they dind’t have access to a lot of natural resources. so, they looked to expand their country by invading other countries to get more resources. japan invaded china and manchuria. this could have caused wwii in the pacific.
how could fascism have caused wwii?
after the great depression and the war debts following wwi, some countries were taken over by dictators who wanted complete control over the people and access to more land. mussolini, for example, wanted to expand italy so he took over ethiopia. this want for more land and resources could have caused wwii.
