Personification
Giving personal nature & human qualities to a non human object
Ex- lady Macbeth saying “Stars hide your fires; let not light see my black & deep desires”
Metaphor
A figure of speech that compares two things that are not literally alike
Verbal irony
Using words to convey a meaning that is opposite to or different from their literal interpretation
Pathetic fallacy
The attribution of human feelings and responses to inanimate objects
