List the properties of animals
•Multicellularity : body is made up of Many cells
•Heterotrophs : dependent on others for food
•Holozoic ( holo: complete) mode of nutrition: first complete food is eaten/ingested then digested.
Grown, reproduction, movement etc
How many cells perform activities in unicellular organisms? And for what
One single cell performs activities like digestion, respiration, reproduction etc necessary for its survival
What does multicellularity help in?
Multicellularity helps with division of labour meaning work is divided among many cells
What is tissue
Group of similar cells with intercellular/extra-cellular substance performing a specific function
On what basis are the tissues classified into 4 types
Structure and function
The four types of tissues:
Epithelial, connective, muscular, neural or nervous tissue
Do different organs have the same proportion of these 4 tissues?
No different organs have different proportions of these tissues
What is the organ system? Explain with an example
When 2 or more organs interact physically(organs are connected to each other) and chemically(by releasing enzymes, hormone etc), they form an organ system.
Example: digestive, respiratory etc
