principle of moment?

A

when an object is in equillibrium the some of the anticlockwise moments=clockwise moments

22
Q

what is hookes law?

A

force is directly proportional to the extension of the spring when a force is applied

23
Q

work done formula

A

force x distance moved in the direction of the force

24
Q

25
what are the 2 types of energy?
gpe and kinetic energy
26
formula for gpe
mgh
27
formula for ke
1/2 mv squared
28
formula for power
work done/time
29
unit of power

31
formula for density
mass/volume
32
unit of density
kgm3
33
pressure formula
force / area
34
pressure in liquids formula
h ro g
35
Boyle's law? ( pressure of gases )
pressure is inversely proportional to the volume when temperature and the amount of gas is constant
36
boyles law formula
p1 v1 = p2 v2
37
how do you investigate boyles law?
- trap a fixed amount if gas in a syringe - measure the initial volume of the gas - reduce the volume using the syringe - for each pressure applied record the corresponding volume - repeat this several times while keeping the temperature constant - plot a graph with the results
38
what is the pressure law?
a fixed mass of a gas at constant volume the pressure is directly proportional to the kelvin temperature
39
pressure law formula
p1/t1 = p2/t2 - temperature should be in kelvin
40
how do you convert celcius to kelvin?
= tc + 273
41
what is charles law?
if a fixed mass of gas at a constant pressure volume occupied is directly proportional to its absolute temperature
42
what is radiation?
it is the transfer of heat through infrared waves
43
what is the unit of charge?
coulomb
