The Geneva Summit
[1959]
No decisions were made, but it set the groundwork for more conferences. Eisenhower and Khrushchev attended this.
The Paris Summit
[1960]
This was a disaster; the USSR had shot down a U2-spy plane, meaning that Khrushchev lost all trust for Eisenhower.
SALT 1
[1972]
The USSR and USA agreed that no further productions on ballistic missiles would be made. Submarines with nukes only to be used when ICBMs are redundant, and ABMs were limited (anti-ballistic missile systems)
SALT 2
[1979]
Finally signed in 1979, discussed since 1972, and with agreements made in 1974, Carter and Brezhnev agreed on this treaty.
Helsinki Agreements
[1975]
This focused on: Human Rights, Security, and Co-operation. Signed by almost all of Europe
INF Treaty
[1987]
This was the first agreement which REDUCED the amount of nukes allowed by each power.
The Second Geneva summit
[1985]
No agreements were made, but the summit helped the two leaders (Gorbachev and Reagan) trust each other more.
The Reykjavik Meeting
[1986]
Reagan wanted to scrap all ballistic missiles, which Gorbachev refused as the SDI project was still in place
START 1
[1991]
Signed by Bush and Gorbachev, this was similar to the CFE but limited nuclear weapons owned by NATO and WARSAW members.

The Vienna Conference
