assumed countries become democracies with relatively free/open elections but democracy includes far more than just elections its something we can always have more/less of rather than something that is or isnt

not just voting/running for office staying informed about what is happening and what decisions are being made in the name of people by your representative make your opinions known so leaders have feedback and dont lead only according to their own will and priorities vote as if they dont members are effectively unaccountable
