Q
  1. Cases are in the order used by some modern textbooks: nom. acc. gen. dat. voc. We begin with the 2nd declension, because it’s the least complicated.

Decline ἄνθρωπος (“human”) in the singular.

Remember fundamental rule of Greek accent: for a word to be proparoxytone (i.e. it has an acute accent on the antepenult) the ultima must be short.

A

ἄνρθωπος

ἄνθωρπον

2.

Decline ἄνθρωπος in the plural.

Remember that final -οι (not -οις) is considered short. Note: vocatives are not reviewed in the plural of any noun because in the plural they are always identical with the nominative.

A

ἄνθρωποι

ἀνθρώπους

ἀνθρώπων

ἀνθρώποις
