  • IgE Mediated Hypersensitivity of the MUCOUS MEMBRANE of the Nose, to SPECIFIC Antigens

2) Perennial AR = Persistent ALL Year

- Inhalants
- Pollen of Trees / Grass
- Ingestants = Egg, Strawberries, Banana, Fish
- Drugs = Aspirin, Penicillin, Plasma

0 PATHOGENESIS
1) Exposure to Allergens

2) Allergens bind to Fixed IgE on Mast Cells, causing DEGRANULATION of Mast Cells, and releasing Chemical Mediators (Histamines, Leukotrienes, Prostaglandins)
