Clearing intersections
Look left, right, left. Check mirrors

Scan steering wheels
Checks to see if vehicle is occupied and a potential hazard.
Why: take path if least resistance
Stale green lights
A light I didn’t see change. Create a decision point to stop or drive through the intersection.
Why: smooth stops and turns
Eye contact
Communicate in traffic with horn lights and siganls.
Why: establishes eye to eye contact
Pulling from curb
Use signals, check mirrors, and check over shoulder.
Why: communicate in traffic, horn, lights, signals
Use of mirrors and gauges
Check a mirror or gauge every 5-8 seconds using the triangle movement.
Why: keeps eyes ahead of car
