What is a Region?

A

A Region is a geographical area.

A

An Availability Zone (AZ) is simply a data center.

A

Edge locations are CDN endpoints for CloudFront.

Why are AZs isolated/independent from one another?

A

E.g. in case there is a flood in one, the other won’t be affected. Low latency between each AZ.
