Why don’t plants HA gold?

A

Under natural conditions, gold is highly insoluble and therefore it has low bioavailability. Although it is relatively immobile it could be solubilised from minerals and soils by microbial activity (Korobushkina et al 1983) and cyanogenic plants (Girling and Peterson 1980). Commercial plants that are cyanogenic, they produce cyanide containing compound which can increase the solubility of gold, sorgum, barley and eucalytus
