ENVIRONMENT
- can be defined as a sum total of
all the living and non-living elements and their
effects that influence human life. While all
living or biotic elements are animals
plants
forests
fisheries
abiotic elements include water
land
rocks
and air.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
(Republic Act 9003)
- is the practice of protecting the natural
environment by individuals
groups and governments. Its
objectives are to conserve natural resources and the
existing natural environment and
where it is possible
repair damage and reverse trends. Due to the pressures
of overconsumption
population growth and technology
the biophysical
environment is being degraded
sometimes permanently. This has been recognized
and
governments have begun placing restraints on activities
that cause environmental degradation.
