Q

Give a - of social change (NSP)

A

Nemeth said its a slow process that produced fragile effects he argues that the majority aren’t exposed to the main issue (if addressed would cause a change in norms and appear to be drastic) and the main issue isn’t resolved. The processes takes a while meaning the effects are delayed. Therefore, suggesting that social change through minority influence can’t be relied upon to bring about a long-standing change in society.

Q

Give a - of Social Change (NS)

A

Not as simple as many people are settled in their. views and are unwilling to change. Bashir suggests that these social barriers are because of sterotypes. For example may are unwilling to recycle as don’t want to be labelled as a tree hugger. Suggesting that minority influence and social influence aren’t always effective because they don’t tackle these issues

Q

Give a - of Social Change (VL)

A

Mackie suggests that minority. influence is very limited as we’re more likely to. change our views. This is because we often take comfort in knowing that so many others share our views that when they don’t we become unsettled and are. forced to deeply process this change
