LISTEN - For noisy breathing e.g. snoring, stridor

FEEL - for the movement of air and for the security of an artificial airway

Breathing

NOTE - If in doubt 4l/min Hudson mask

LOOK - At the chest wall movement is it symmetrical? are they using the accessory muscles? RR.

LISTEN - speaking in full sentences? for noisy breathing e.g. wheezing / stridor

FEEL - for the position of the trachea to see if it is central, for surgical emphysema or crepitus, if they are sweaty

Circulation

Answer 3

LOOK - Skin colour?? cyanosis? Cap refill time, jugular pressure

LISTEN - to the pt. are they dizzy or have headaches, BP and Heart sounds

FEEL - pt. hands and feet to see if they are warm of cold, peripheral pulse - is it regular?

Disability

Answer 4

LOOK - LOC, seizure activity, facial movements, PEARL

LISTEN - to pt. responses to external stimuli and pain. slurred speech, PPP

FEEL - Muscle power and strength

Exposure

LOOK - bleeding or wounds

LISTEN - air leaks in drains and bowel sounds

FEEL - pt. Abdo sounds
