Decided to continue war, made promises about land, Bolsheviks (increase supporters)
What led to the 1918 civil war??

Britain, France and America was angry that they dropped out of the WWI and because they wanted to spread Communism through the entire world
What was NEP
Lenin after the civil war, to recover economically, introduced NEP. It had 2 aims, first put communis theories into practice like sharing the wealth among the Russian people. Second was to help with the Civil war by keeping the towns and the red army supplied with food and weapons.
What were the main aims of NEP
Government take over all large factories
Production was planed and organized by the government
Discipline for workers was strict and strikers could be shot
Peasants had to surplus of food or they would be shot
Food was rationed
Free enterprise was illegal- all production and trade was controlled by the state
