1. Freeze = The scene so that it remains in the condition in which it was found.
2. Control = People at the scene and those attempting to leave or arrive.
3. Preserve = Any evidence at the scene that may be destroyed or start to decay in some way.

What information that should be obtained from an informant on arrival at a scene?

1. Identify the victim and/or the offender
2. If the offender is not present, their direction, if they have left in a vehicle, details of the vehicle and the registration.

What should you do on arrival at a scene?

Answer 5

1. Park in a safe area.
2. Advise comms of your arrival and obtain acknowledgement (10-7)
3. Revise your plan if the scene is different than expected.
4. “5 WH + H” why, where, when, who, what, and how
5. Ask people nearby what, where and who is involved. Ask open ended questions(TEDS)
6. Provide an update to comms
