Why was a JCT Minor Works Contract with CDP used on your project?

• Minor Works was used because

o The works were to remodel 3 existing rooms to a logistics hub and storage

o Simple project and low value – approx. £650,000

• CDP used as the contractor was asked to carry out the design of the MEP systems

Question 2

What is a contractors designed portion? Why / when might it be used?

Answer 2

• An agreement for the contractor to design specific parts of the works.
• The contractor may in turn sub-contract this design work to specialist sub-contractors
• When the works include specialist items (cladding, MEP systems, BMS)

Explain the process of how you prepared the contract sections on UCL IOE.

Answer 3

• I ensured that I had been given all the responses via the query schedule as well as all supporting information
• I used Citrix which is a company software used to produce contracts
• I inputted the relevant information in to each section of the contract
• This was then extracted as a draft and reviewed by the client / contractor before being finalised and ready to sign
